We Speak Shih Tzu
Not long after founding Translation by Design, Sandra received a call from her sister in nearby Carmel Valley. "Sandy, I know you were thinking about getting a dog. I have a customer with 2 black Shih Tzus in my store right now. They're 7 weeks old. She can't keep them, you have to decide right now if you can take them."
"Fear nothing and act without delay!"
This is a phase associated with Shih Tzus - referring to their big, bold, and confident personality. It is also a fitting description for that moment, when Sandra, who had never had a pet before, made the decision to bring home Bixby and Quigley.
It was one of the best decisions of her life.
For nearly 17 years they served as the TBD Inc. mascot. Whether attending trade shows, "guarding the office," or walking along the coast trail in Pacific Grove, they brought joy and delight everywhere they went.
The Legend Continues
May the 4th be with us...Born on May 4th, 2024, Lady Zinnia and Lord Zander, arrived to carry on the important role as mascots of TBD Inc.
We decided to bestow the honorific, "Lord and Lady" because, let's be honest, they are waited on "hand and foot" like royalty. This is fitting, given the regal role their ancestors played in China's royal courts and noble houses for over a thousand years.
Our office might not be a palace, or as cushy as the "Sleeve of the Emperor" but these little "Lion Dogs" are living up to the legacy left them by Bixby and Quigley. Every day they are working to bring smiles everywhere they go and love to everyone they meet!
