Weihao's path to interpreting wasn't a sudden decision—it was a natural evolution. With a background in international studies and years spent working with international student organizations, he was constantly immersed in moments where understanding required more than shared vocabulary. He found himself drawn to the challenge of listening closely, thinking quickly, and helping ideas move clearly between people from different worlds.

Today, what inspires him is the quiet privilege of being present where meaningful conversations happen, in rooms where decisions are shaped, disagreements navigated, and complex ideas tested in real time. He values the trust placed in interpreters and the discipline of doing the work well while remaining largely invisible. The profession also keeps him connected to what first drew him in: the opportunity to travel, experience different corners of the world firsthand, and stay immersed in international environments rather than observing from a distance.

His most memorable assignment was the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics—his first opportunity to work on a true world stage alongside seasoned colleagues across multiple language teams. It brought together two lifelong passions: sports and languages. Looking back, it wasn't the scale alone that made it unforgettable, but the realization that he had found a profession where his interests, skills, and sense of purpose come together naturally.
