With over 30 years of experience in global communication and business operations, Sandra has built a career on solving complex problems, connecting cultures, and coming through for clients, no matter the odds. As Founder and President of Translation by Design, she blends strategic thinking with flexibility, grit, and an unshakable commitment to getting things done…right.

Her specialty is crafting customized language solutions that actually work in the real world. While she has studied languages such as Spanish, Italian, and even Sanskrit, her greatest fluency is in the language of management. Known for her sharp problem-solving skills and calm-under-pressure leadership, she has no qualms rolling up her sleeves to tackle a challenge...and doesn’t stop until it’s handled. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Sonoma State University and has pursued advanced studies in human relations, team building, conflict resolution, and organizational development; tools she uses daily as a values-driven leader.

In addition to her deep roots in language services, she brings extensive experience in nonprofit operations, publishing, and project management. At TBD, she has built a culture that moves fast, thinks smart, and never forgets the humans behind the work.

When she’s not guiding her team or championing clients, Sandra is a devoted follower of spiritual teacher Eknath Easwaran, maintains a daily meditation practice, and finds her reset button in nature. She loves spending time with family and friends…and is proudly outnumbered by her two Shih Tzus, who keep life joyful, grounded, and occasionally a little chaotic.
